ALBUM NOTES:
mothership was founded in 2007 by Claude VonStroke as an extension of the already successful dirtybird label. The label offers a very wide range of styles from Voodeux's creepy Detroit style techno to Catz 'n Dogz earthy house rumble. But overall mothership features a deeper, more experimental sound than it's big brother, dirtybird.
In an effort to give something back to the community (an influenced by an interview with Mad Mike of Underground Resistance,) mothership donates a majority of it's proceeds to a music school for children in Claude’s original hometown of Detroit, Michigan.
"Phase One" is a compilation celebrating the best music from mothership so far. The package features everything from the massive hit "Viktor Casanova" by the Italoboyz to the spooky techno of "the Curse" by Voodeux. There are deep house gems and big techmonsters all throughout the release but the overall focus is always quality.
