Josh Kinsella or also known as Kinzy is a young 17 year old producer coming from the south of Wales. Kinzy got his influence on doing music through family, due to his granddad being in a famous rockabilly band around the 60?s. Kinzy began to work with music from a young age adding accapella?s to various drum and bass tracks and mashing up different vocals to throw over other tracks. As he began to grow on what he was doing he then purchased a copy of EJ to work with. Kinzy then grew to learn how to structure tracks and how to arrange certain parts of tracks. As he wanted to push his name out from a young age he signed up to a website called mixstreet. Joining mixstreet gave him a bit of publicity on there in the drum and bass charts, reaching first for many months. Kinzy then quit the mixstreet website as the website wasn?t doing much for the young upcoming artist. Being bought up on drum and bass/jungle all his life due to his dad being a DJ in a few of the local clubs, Kinzy was always listening to the genre. As he then got a bit older, he got in touch with a producer called Rampz, who comes from Bristol. He advised Kinzy to get Reason 4, and begin to learn that. Starting off simple, Kinzy made grime, hip hop and other various instrumentals for various artists. Having his 1st instrumental he sold recorded on by the Newport Allstars Ft SickMadeMan of B.O.D.R (Big On Da Roads). Having then learning the ways of reason Kinzy then started to produce Drum & Bass and Dubstep. Being so young, local radio newportcityradio.org 87.9fm become interested in what the young DJ/Producer was doing. Having then record two 20 minute mixes to be played on air. It wasn?t long until the grime radio host Striblo got interested and was asking to interview, and also play some tracks of his on air. Striblo got interested because of the grime instrumentals Kinzy used to produce for various artists. As Kinzy become part of the Newport City Radio family, he then got given a slot on a show with another host. In 2009 Kinzy then got his first signing to DUBXTENT RECORDS at the age of 16. The track signed was dubstep track ?The Devils Theory?. The track is out now on Beatport, Chemical-Records and many more online stores. Having had the signing this pushed Kinzy even further giving him more of a reason to work harder when it comes to producing and DJing. From the signing Kinzy then began to sit down each and every day working on a new track to see what he could create. As his tracks improved, local DJ Matt Kirke played his music out in the clubs, and also on radio. A few months later, Matt Kirke advised Kinzy to enter the Skint Records Remix Competition. Spending each day since he bought the sample pack to work on the remix, Kinzy then went on to win the remix competition! Again, this was all done at the age of 16. Having then being put up to 6th in the breaks & beats chart on djdownload. Winning the competition has given Kinzy a lot of publicity having plays on 1XTRA & Radio 1 and other radio stations. Various other labels have approached Kinzy since to ask for tracks and to sign tracks. Kinzy now studies at ATM Music College. Learning live sound recording, music production and so on. Being so young, the future looks bright for young producer/DJ Kinzy. With more releases due for Kinzy in 2010, Kinzy has a lot of big plans for 2010. Let?s wish the young producer luck!
