Beeing a vinyl addict who spend most of his time in soul music conventions, dj producer Pascal Rioux (also boss of Rotax Records) has always been influenced by the sweetest soul singers, no matter the style - mellow - northern - latin - modern - satin... Here is a few favorite names: Leon Ware, The Notations, Prince Phillip Mitchell, Al Johnson, Luther Vandross... the list is longer than my arm. Favorite Records will license stuff from these old school days, adding the quality re-mastering treatment to it. Activists of the new school of soul music will do the remixing part of the job, Lee Mac Donald is the first release (feb 2006) including remixes by TM Juke (Tru Thoughts). Barbara Mason, Ron Foster (ex member of Extacy, Passion and Pain) are following... but not only faced towards the past, Favorite Records will also put out current productions from new artists such as Mr Day, Patchworks & the RealFake MC, Nickodemus.
