Leftroom Limited gets set to release more off-kilter craftiness with Steven Boardman&Dave
Congreve’s‘Your Sun’–an invigorative ride through waves of trippy bass synths and deep
grooves. Two remixes from Luke Solomon and a double hitter from Inxec&main man Matt
Tolfrey provide more twists and turns. A seamless effort from the burgeoning partnership of Boardman and Congreve,‘Your Sun’sits perfectly within the Leftroom Limited catalogue. Fast paced and playful the original surges with energy, techy grooves and a healthy dose of weirdness. The vocal snippets spring and vibrate as if being hurtled along at a supersonic speed through a tunnel of warping synths and percussion. This exhilarating number will lock your body on the dancefloor and literally blow your mind. Co-owner of The Classic Music Company alongside fellow house legend Derrick Carter, Luke Solomon steps in for the first two of the four remixes. His‘My Sun Version’rises up out of deep waters, adding a whole new drum pattern while his‘remix dub’version lends another new spin, cutting out the vocal and introducing round warm pads and layered, dubby textures. Matt Tolfrey and Chris Sylvester aka Inxec combine forces once again to round off this solid
release. Their‘Coconut Butter Mix’is a real funky chugger, packed full of groove, while the‘SPF 100 Mix’is aimed toward the trippy and hypnotic with eerie synth patterns gliding over
the chugging drive and warbling keys.‘The Boardroom presents…’label owner, audio engineer and live artist Steven Boardman first met the Nottingham local hero come international DJ Dave Congreve, who has also been spending considerable time in the studio with releases and remixes on Soma, when Steven was co-producing with Andrew Weatherall at The Rotters Golf Club studio. A friendship soon blossomed with Steven regularly attending the nights that Dave was playing at in London. The pair soon came together in a series of musical projects including Dave’s remix of 'Patient Saints' from the Two Lone Swordsmen LP 'Wrong Meeting', which made a massive impact and subsequently appeared on Ivan Smagghe's‘Cocorico 3’compilation. Debut single‘Your Sun’on Leftroom Limited is a powerful collaborative effort and one that will undoubtedly pave the way for more to come.
